Harborfest is making it easier than ever to get to the main festival grounds, adding free parking at a large lot and a free shuttle bus to take people to Breitbeck Park and back again. The new shuttle joins the festival’s longtime trolley program, which will again be free of charge, moving among the festival’s venues and two convenient downtown Oswego locations.
Harborfest will use the Romney Field House parking lot along Bridge St./Route 104 for free parking. A shuttle bus will run continuously during festival hours to take festival attendees from the parking lot to Breitbeck Park and back again. Once at Breitbeck, people can catch a trolley to take them to festival venues at the Midway/Cahill Pier and East Park/Washington Square, as well as to the Best Western/Clarion Hotel and Suites and to the corner of West First and Bridge Streets. The shuttle and trolleys are free of charge. Collectible tokens will be available on trolleys for free but in limited quantities. The Romney lot is available thanks to SUNY Oswego, which also provides picnic tables for use during Harborfest.
Trolleys are supported by All State Materials Group, Inc., the Best Western & Clarion Hotel & Suites, Fulton Savings Bank, and Suburban Propane. Kinney Drugs sponsors the trolley buttons.
“We never stop working to find ways to improve the experience for people who come to Harborfest,” said Dan Harrington, Executive Director. “We’re grateful to our sponsors who keep these conveniences free for festival attendees and we believe the new lot at Romney is going to help a lot of people have a more enjoyable time at Harborfest.”
