Oswego, NY(May 4, 2016)- The children attending the 29th annual Oswego Harborfest will benefit from the generous grant from the Shineman Foundation as it supports the Novelis Children’s Park STEAM program. Present at the official announcement were Harborfest Executive Director Peter Myles, Harborfest Sponsorship Coordinator Rick Rodgers, and representing the Shineman Foundation was its Executive Director Karen Goetz. The Children’s Park will be open Friday-Sunday during Harborfest.
Myles stated, “We are very grateful to the Shineman Foundation for their unwavering dedication to our community’s bright young minds. The STEAM program is an exceptional thing to bring to Harborfest, and it contributes to the roster of events and activities scheduled to take place benefitting the City of Oswego and its residents. We just want to remind the community that our festival would not be possible without the support of our sponsors, and we want to take the opportunity to again thank the Shineman Foundation for their incredibly generous gift.”
Harborfest is one of the few admission-free music festivals in the country. It was founded with the mission of creating nationally recognized festivals and events that attract and engage a broad and diverse audience, celebrate and build community, and advance economic development in Oswego, New York.
