Oswego, NY (July 9, 2017)- Harborfest is proud to host the grassroots kindness movement “Kindness Rocks” at its 30th annual celebration this year. The festival will hold a space in the Novelis Family Park, where visitors would be able to decorate rocks with inspirational messages, which would then be scattered across Oswego and beyond, hopefully for someone to find…and pay it forward!
The two goals of the Kindness Rocks Project are as follows: Goal 1: To inspire others through randomly placed rocks along the way, and Goal 2: To recruit every person who stumbles upon it to join in the pursuit of inspiring others through random acts of kindness.
Visitors to the festival interested in painting rocks for the movement are invited to visit the Novelis Family Park. More information on the Kindness Rocks Project can be found on their official website, www.thekindnessrocksproject.com
Harborfest is one of the few admission-free music festivals in the country. It was founded with the mission of creating nationally recognized festivals and events that attract and engage a broad and diverse audience, celebrate and build community, and advance economic development in Oswego, New York. It would not be possible to continue the event without the massive continued support received from the City of Oswego, businesses, organizations, government entities, and individuals and family members.
