Oswego, NY (February 1, 2017)- One of the biggest factors drawing thousands of visitors to the Oswego Harborfest every year are the free concerts that take place in each venue all weekend long. A hardworking team of individuals review every application that arrives at the office, in order to provide festival goers with the best experience possible.
The Harborfest Programming Committee held its first meeting on Wednesday, January 25th to begin going over every application sent in by musicians all over Central New York and beyond.
Harborfest Business Manager/Performing Arts Coordinator Barbara Manwaring, a member of the committee, stated, “We take great care and pride in making sure that we book a diverse range of talented local and national acts. We want people coming to the 30th edition of Harborfest to enjoy the festival atmosphere, and a large part of that is the live music.”
The committee will continue to meet to consider applications until all scheduled time slots have been filled. The annual festival celebrates its 30th birthday during the last weekend in July, from the 27th through the 30th.
Harborfest is one of the few admission-free music festivals in the country. It was founded with the mission of creating nationally recognized festivals and events that attract and engage a broad and diverse audience, celebrate and build community, and advance economic development in Oswego, New York.
