Mike DelGuidice went from performing Billy Joel’s music to performing as part of Joel’s touring band, even singing an operatic aria during the Piano Man’s concerts. DelGuidice will bring some of the greatest hits of the classic rock era along with his original recorded songs to Harborfest on opening night, Thursday, July 24 at 8:45 p.m. on the Novelis Breitbeck Park Constellation Stage. All shows at Harborfest are free of charge. DelGuidice’s show is sponsored by Eagle Beverage – Budweiser and Oswego Harbor Festivals.
At a recent show, DelGuidice performed hits from Bruce Springsteen, Journey, Aerosmith, John Denver and Led Zeppelin in addition to his original work and a handful of Billy Joel hits. Joel hired him for his touring band on the recommendation of members of his band who had worked with DelGuidice in his former tribute band, Big Shot.
“It’s going to be a great night of songs you know by heart from one of the top touring musicians in America,” said Dan Harrington, Executive Director. “I believe we’ve found yet another great way to kick off Central New York’s best summer festival. Mike DelGuidice will get everyone into an Oswego, New York state of mind.”
DelGuidice’s performance begins right after the annual opening ceremonies to kick off the festival’s 38th year. The veteran 50’s/60’s rock band Ruby Shooz opens the evening at 6:30 p.m.
