This year’s children’s musical, “Disney’s 101 Dalmatian Kids” is based on the 1956 children’s novel by Dodie Smith. The story was adapted for the stage by Marcy Heisler, with music by Brian Smith, Dan Root, Martin Lee Fuller, Mel Leven, Randy Rogel, and Richard Gibbs; Lyrics by Marcy Heisler, Brian Smith, Dan Root, Martin Lee Fuller, Mel Leven, Randy Rogel, and Richard Gibbs; and the music for the show was adapted and arranged by Bryan Louiselle. The Show is produced by special arrangement with Music Theater International.
The Children’s Musical has been a traditional part of Harborfest for several years, being produced and directed by former Oswego City School Music Teachers Roxanne Farden and Roberta Palange. With their retirement the Staff of the Oswego Children’s Theater takes over the production, with Director, Lyndsie Lee Jones and Music Director, Kenneth C. Jones. Assisted by Wayne Mosher Jr. with Kelly Mosher on Costumes. The show will presented several times during the Festival weekend on the Children’s Stage at West Park.
This year’s Children’s Musical is a fur-raising adventure featuring Cruella De Vil, Disney’s most outrageous villain, and 101 of the most adorable heroes to set their paws onstage. With a high-spirited score and lovable characters, this stage adaptation is certain to charm and delight all audiences.
The musical will be in the Novelis Family Park in the Family Tent. On Saturday, July 28 the musical will be at noon and 4:45 p.m. and on Sunday, July 29 the musical times are noon and 3:30 p.m.
