This provides basic information to not-for-profit organizations
interested in selling food tickets at Harborfest 2005:
- Park assignments are based on past participation. Partners from previous years have first rights to the same park placement.
- Each ticket booth requires 3 people over age 16 per shift for adequate coverage. There must be at least one person over the age of 18 in the booth at all times. The organization must commit to providing coverage for the entire Festival for all hours the park is operational. Breitbeck Park is operational for 4 days, some parks are 5 days depending on location.
- A contract between Harborfest and the not-for-profit organization must be in place by May 1, 2005.
- The organization is considered an independent contractor and volunteers may not be employees of any of the following organizations:
- Oswego Harbor Festivals, Inc.
- Harbor Festivals Guild
- City of Oswego
- Port of Oswego Authority
- Fort Ontario Historic Site NYSOPHRP
- The contract includes the requirement for the organization to maintain general liability insurance (at their cost) written on an occurrence basis for itself at the Festival with combined single limit bodily injury and property damage coverage of not less than $500,000. (This may be available through the Harborfest provider at a cost of $60.)
- The organization must provide a Certificate of 501(c) status.
- Food Ticket training is required for all festival volunteers in the organization. (Dates to be determined after May 1.)
- Partners may not provide any pamphlets or literature handouts at the booth during the Festival.
- Partners may place a group banner inside the booth toward the rear of the booth and may wear their group's representative T-shirts while on duty.
