OSWEGO, NY (Mar. 21)—Constellation Energy will sponsor the Friday night feature concert at Harborfest, festival officials announced today. The 2005 edition of Harborfest marks the third consecutive year the energy producer has sponsored national performances on the festival’s Lakeview Stage.
Constellation Energy, a Fortune 500 Company based in Baltimore, is the nation’s leading competitive supplier of electricity to large commercial and industrial users. It owns and operates a diversified fleet of generating plants throughout the United States including the Nine Mile One and Two nuclear power plants in Oswego County.
“Constellation Energy and the employees at Nine Mile Point Nuclear Station are proud to join with Harborfest and bring to Central New York a wonderful evening of entertainment,” said Jim Spina, vice president at Nine Mile Point. “Employees at Nine Mile Point have taken great pride in supporting Harborfest as volunteers since the very first festival. We consider it a privilege to be able to participate in Harborfest 2005. Please join us at the Lakeview Stage on July 29.”
“Harborfest welcomes Constellation Energy to the 18 th edition of the festival as sponsor of the Lakeview Stage Friday night concert,” said Michael Redding, Harborfest executive director. “Thanks to the support of Constellation Energy, Harborfest was able to bring the Neville Brothers to the festival last year and in 2002 Constellation sponsored the surfer sounds of original Beach Boy, Al Jardine.
