Dear Friends of Harborfest:
On behalf of the Harborfest Board of Directors, we are pleased to offer you the opportunity to become a member of Harborfest 2004. Some of you have been with us for many years, and for that we are very appreciative. For those of you who have not yet had the experience of being a member of Harborfest, we hope that you will take the time read this letter, which included the many benefits that Harborfest offers to its members.
First, and most important, Harborfest provided a substantial positive economic influence on business in Oswego County. It has been documented (1999 economic impact survey) that Harborfest generates over 7 million dollars in additional revenue each year. Many local businesses benefit greatly from the tourism dollars that Harborfest brings in, and the community as a whole is afforded the opportunity to experience a wonderful family festival.
As always, we are planning many exciting activities to help celebrate Harborfest in 2004. Again, we will be offering great entertainment on several stages through out the city. We provide fabulous food at each of our venues. In addition we will be offering an expanded arts & crafts venue, as well as our midway, the children’s parade, and of course our spectacular Saturday night fireworks.
As you probably know putting on a wonderful event like Harborfest 2004 will depend on the support of public-spirited citizens like you. We count on local community members such as you to help us to pay for the expenses of this festival. We hope that you will choose to become a member and support Harborfest 2004.
We are continuing to offer our membership raffle prizes, which are available only to Harborfest Members. Again, the winners of these prizes will be announced from the Lakeview Stage. The prizes are:
- A $600.00 Travel Gift Certificate, Donated by Bond, Schoeneck, and King, and Garafolo’s.
- Tickets to the New York State Fair, with special parking
- Two Tickets to the Oswego Speedway Classic Weekend.
- Free room at the Captains Quarters Hotel during Harborfest 2005. Compliments of Oswego Harbor Festivals, Inc.
As we begin our planning for Harborfest 2004, we hope that we can count on your support. Please consider making your contributions in 2003.
