Location: Parade organization begins at 10 a.m. at West Park-Franklin Park. Joseph A. Trionfero will entertain parade participants as they gather for parade kick-off. Oswego Hospital nursing staff and friends will provide sunscreen to parade participants. The parade steps off at 11 a.m.
Parade Route: North on West Fifth Street to Lake Street and Breitbeck Park.
Theme: The Children’s Parade will celebrate the music and folklore of Australia, Harborfest’s 2005 Cultural Component.
Parade Highlights: In honor of Australia, Boomer, the Centro Kangaroo will march. Also participating is Geico Insurance Company’s famous gecko and the Catskill Puppet Theater puppets. The 200-member Sherburne-Earlville High School Marching Band will lead the parade. Immediately after the parade, the band will perform in Breitbeck Park.
Pre-Parade Workshops:Pre-parade workshops will be held where children can stamp design their own t-shirts, using Aboriginal patterns of their choice. The workshops will be held on Wednesday, July 27 from 3-4 & 6-7 p.m and from and on Thursday, July 28 from 10-11 a.m. & 12-1 p.m. All workshops will take place at the Dehm Pavilion in Breitbeck Park
