July 28th-31st

THANK YOU!!!

THANK YOU to our hundreds of volunteers who made Harborfeset 2010 such a great event.

On behalf of the Harborfest Board of Directors and Staff, thank everyone who came out for the 23rd edition of Harborfest. We certainly all faced some obstacles with the weather and despite Mother Nature’s best efforts, we can honestly say that Harborfest 2010 was a success as we had great crowds at all the venues when weather cooperated.

The crowds at Breitbeck Park Thursday and Friday for the evening concerts were incredible. Also, the reaction and comments from people attending the various venues such as the Jazz & Blues Stage, the Frisbee Dogs, the Skyriders Trampoline Team, the Water Ski Show and the activities at the Family Park at the Fort, indicate that the enjoyed themselves despite the weather. People pulled together and made the best of the situation, and for that we thank everyone from the volunteers, to the vendors, to the festivalgoers.

We also want to specifically say a special thank you to all the volunteers and park managers who had to stay out in the inclement weather when others were able to seek shelter. You can all hold your heads high with the effort put forth.

Thank the Oswego City Police (and all law enforcement agencies involved during Harborfest), Fire and Department of Public Works departments for everything they did this year for Harborfest. Thank you so much for your efforts, patience and communication with our office.

Obviously in order to keep Harborfest an admission-free festival, we must rely on the support of our members and sponsors. Our membership was up slightly over last year, so we thank our business members and friends of the festival for their support.

We also have a great core of sponsors, who year in year out, throw their tremendous support behind Harborfest and we certainly couldn’t get the music artists, such as the Little River Band and Kansas, entertainment and programming without their help and support.

We also want to thank the New York Parks and Recreation folks, especially Paul Lear and his support staff at Fort Ontario for all their help and for allowing us to use their venue for an outstanding Family Park location as well as host site for our children’s and sponsor parties.

All in all we have to be pleased with the way things went this year. It’s a great week for Oswego to showcase our great community and we appreciate everyone who throws their support behind our community event.

Without the support of our volunteers, sponsors, members, City officials and many more, Harborfest certainly would not be the event that it is every year. Our heartfelt thanks go out to everyone involved with pre-festival, in-festival and post-festival – Harborfest owes its success to all of you.

THANK YOU.
