Live media set to invade Harborfest 2012

In addition to reading Harborfest updates in print over the course of the festival, many live media broadcasts will be on tap throughout Harborfest weekend.

First up will be 99.3 FM “The Wall” based in the Finger Lakes Region. They will host a live broadcast near the NRG Lakeview Stage in Breitbeck Park on Thursday afternoon from 3:00 until 5:00. “The Wall” is the media concert sponsor later that night as they host the Budweiser concerts of the Jimmy Buffett tribute band Changes in Latitudes and the Billy Joel tribute band Big Shot.

A major media exposure at Harborfest will occur on Friday morning on the NRG Lakeview Stage in Breitbeck Park as Harborfest hosts its first ever entertainment program in the twenty five year history of the festival. WSYR NewsChannel 9’s “Bridge Street Live at Harborfest presented by Entergy” will take the stage from 10:00 until 11:00. Many Harborfest themed segments have been planned for this show including the ending of the Oswego Health & Palladium-Times Children’s Parade which will end on live TV for the first time as well. The Bridge Street program can be seen live on digital channel 889 and taped at 8:00 PM on channel 890.

On Saturday morning at “Gasoline Alley” in the historic Maritime District, Joe Marotta will be broadcasting live his weekly racing radio show “Around the Tracks” on 1390 WFBL and on the internet at cnytalkradio.com. Marotta will be interviewing guests from the displays in that park including representatives from the Oswego Speedway and Watkins Glen International. He will also fill race fans in on the results of Friday night racing action from around the area.

The major television media partner for Harborfest, YNN, will be on hand throughout the festival with special interviews and features for viewers. YNN will take their audience up close and personal to many popular events. One major feature will be the visit all weekend of historic Tall Ships at the Port of Oswego which will mark the bicentennial of the beginning of the war of 1812.

Harborfest welcomes all media partners that will bring the festival out to people through print, radio and TV for the 25th annual celebration of the event.
