Oswego Harborfestivals, Inc. is setting the stage in 2012 for a celebration to remember by announcing a brand new $26,000 car raffle. Someone will walk away from Oswego’s annual summer festival with a brand new 2012 Dodge Challenger, courtesy of Longley Dodge in Fulton NY.
Harborfest, a not-for-profit organization, has always relied on fundraisers in the past to keep the festival going and the entertainment free, but wanted to make a bigger splash than ever before in its 25th year. According to Harborfest Board President Mike Howard, “This arrangement between Longley Dodge, Harborfest, and our local newspaper, The Palladium-Times, recalls how this festival began 25 years ago – through local partnerships, creative ideas, and thinking big. I couldn’t be more excited to announce a raffle like this for annual celebration, but it’s really just the tip of the iceberg for what we have in store for our 25th year.”
Dennis Longley, owner of Longley Dodge, came on board immediately when the idea was presented to him. “We’ve always been supportive of Harborfest, but to partner with them and our local daily newspaper for the 25th year in a big way, was an opportunity we couldn’t pass up. We’re hoping a raffle like this sets the stage for the next 25 years of what has become a great summer festival in Oswego County.”
Raffle tickets for the new 2012 Dodge Challenger from Longley Dodge are available for $5 each and only 10,000 tickets will be made available for sale. Tickets can be purchased at the Harborfest office on Lake St., Oswego, at Longley Dodge at 1698 Co. Rte. 57 in Fulton, at The Palladium-Times’ office on West First St., Oswego and throughout Harborfest venues.
The car raffle winner will be announced on Sunday of Harborfest weekend. The winner does not need to be present to claim the car, and the winner’s name will be posted on Harborfest’s and The Palladium-Times’ website. Participants in the raffle must be 18-years of age of older. A complete set of rules for the contest appear at the end of this story.
