Oswego Harborfestivals, Inc. has announced the appointment of Steve Pryor as Sponsorship, Membership and Media PR Coordinator for Harborfest. Pryor served as Marketing Director for the Oswego Speedway from 2004 to 2011 and has a long standing relationship of supporting Harborfest that dates back two decades.
Pryor stated that “almost twenty years ago to the date, myself and Ed Tucker met with Charlotte Sullivan to help create the first ever ‘Official Vehicle’ program for Harborfest in conjunction with the Pontiac Motor Division. That program lasted nearly ten years and included ‘Official Pace Cars’ for the International Supermodified Association at the Oswego Speedway, Sandusky Speedway and Watkins Glen International. In the years that followed I was able to work with Pontiac Motorsports representatives and bring the Bobby LaBonte #18 and the John Andretti #43 race cars to the Port Authority Stage area for display during consecutive Harborfest events. I am very excited to think that I will be handling some of the very same duties that the late Charlotte Sullivan did in the formative years of Harborfest.”
Harborfest Board President Mike Howard stated “Steve is more than capable of handling the duties that we will be seeking from him. I have seen his marketing abilities first hand over the past seven years and I am happy that he will be part of the future for Harborfest.”
Chuck Handley, who is the Vice President of Harborfest, added “Steve is a perfect fit for what we are looking for at Harborfest. I have interacted with him over the past seven years and I know that he will be good at dealing with marketing plans and sponsorship details, both with corporate partners and private individuals that support the festival through the ‘Membership’ program.”
Pryor concluded “After serving as Marketing Director at the Oswego Speedway, which is the #2 tourism destination annually in Oswego County, I am completely thrilled to have the chance to handle the sponsorship duties at Harborfest, which is the #1 tourism destination annually in Oswego County.”
The twenty fifth edition of Harborfest takes place this summer from July 26th – 29th.
